    Below are a number of organizational sites that are focused exclusively on transgender education and advocacy. These are listed in alphabetical order. Transgender support and social organizations are not listed here, as this site focuses on educating others about transgender people.

    The Gender Public Advocacy Coalition works to ensure that classrooms, communities, and workplaces are safe for everyone to learn, grow, and succeed - whether or not they meet expectations for masculinity and femininity. As a human rights organization, GenderPAC also promotes an understanding of the connection between discrimination based on gender stereotypes and sex, sexual orientation, age, race, and class.

    IFGE is a non-profit advocacy organization founded in 1987.  Its purpose is overcoming the intolerance of transvestitism and transsexualism brought about by widespread ignorance.  Since then, as our own consciousness evolves, we have rededicated ourselves to outreach through education for the emancipation of all people from restrictive gender norms.

    The National Center for Transgender Equality is a national social justice organization devoted to ending discrimination and violence against transgender people through education and advocacy on national issues of importance to transgender people. By empowering transgender people and our allies to educate and influence policy makers and others, NCTE facilitates a strong and clear voice for transgender equality in our nation's capital and around the country.

    NTAC is an activist organization founded in 1999, by experienced citizen-lobbyists. Our members lobby at all levels of government in Washington, as well as their home states and cities. NTAC has IRS 501(c)(4) nonprofit status, and is incorporated in the State of Virginia. Lobbying and advocacy is what we were formed to do. We organize lobbying events, and train new citizen - lobbyists regularly, at times and dates announced on this web site.

    The Transgender American Veterans Association (TAVA) was formed to address the growing concerns of fair and equal treatment of transgender veterans and active duty service members. As the population of gender-different people increases, then so does the population of veterans and active duty service members who identify as such. TAVA serves as an educational organization that will help the Veterans Administration and the Department of Defense to better understand the individuals they encounter who identify as being gender-different.

    The Transgender at Work (TAW) project is a focal point for addressing workplace issues for the transgendered. TAW provides resources for innovative employers who want to set their company employment policies to help their transgendered employees to be at their most productive, without spending energy hiding an important part of themselves and pretending to be something they are not.

    We are a non-profit organization dedicated to engaging in effective advocacy for transgender people in our society. The TLPI brings experts and advocates together to work on law and policy initiatives designed to advance transgender equality.

    As an international interdisciplinary, professional organization, the mission of WPATH is to further the understanding and treatment of gender identity disorders by professionals in medicine, psychology, law, social work, counseling, psychotherapy, family studies, sociology, anthropology, sexology, speech and voice therapy, and other related fields.
